The 50 A version of the same kit, carrying up to 12,500 W at 125/250 V through four all-copper conductors. NEMA 14-50P into the generator, SS2-50R twist lock into an SS2-50P inlet box, both ETL listed, with the same four-sided pre-drilled box. Available in 25 and 50 ft.
Shop Generator CordsAbout this item
The 50 A version of the same kit: cord plus pre-drilled inlet box, both ETL listed, for a house, an RV or a job site. The cord runs NEMA 14-50P at the generator to an SS2-50R twist lock at the box, which is a different connector family from the 30 A kit and not interchangeable with it. Lengths are 25 and 50 ft.
Fifty amps at 250 V is 12,500 W, the cord's ceiling rather than its output. Conductors are four in total, one 6 AWG and three 8 AWG, all solid copper, in an STW jacket with a flame-retardant PVC sheath and moulded waterproof plugs. The inlet box is pre-drilled on all four sides and carries a green power indicator. As with any generator hookup, the tie-in to a panel needs a transfer switch or interlock installed by a licensed electrician.
Key Features
- Heavy-Duty 50 Amp Generator Cord — 25FT length with NEMA 14-50P male to SS2-50R female twist lock connectors. 6 AWG + 3×8 AWG 4 conductors, 100% copper. Delivers 12,500W at 125/250V – powers your entire home, RV, or job site during outages.
- Pre-Drilled 50Am Power Inlet Box — NEMA SS2-50P 50AMP inlet box with pre-drilled holes on all 4 sides – connect from left, right, bottom, or rear. No drilling tools needed. Spacious 4"×3"×6.1" interior makes wiring quick and hassle-free.
- Weatherproof & All-Season Durability — Heavy-duty STW jacket with waterproof molded plugs and flame-retardant PVC sheath. Built to withstand rain, snow, extreme heat, UV rays, and rough conditions. Twist lock design prevents accidental disconnection from vibration or pulling – your power stays on when you need it most.
- ETL Listed & Safety Certified — Both cord and inlet box are ETL Listed – independently tested to strict North American safety standards. The input box is equipped with a green indicator light that provides a clear visual indication of the power status. 100% copper conductors with thick insulation ensure stable current and cool operation even under full load.
- Complete Kit & Support — What's in the box: 25FT 50A generator cord + pre-drilled 50A inlet box + cable tie. Backed by professional customer service – contact us anytime, we'll respond promptly.

What the rating means
A cord's wattage is its current times its voltage, nothing more. At 50 A and 250 V that is 12,500 W, which is the figure INFGO prints on the listing. Wattage is a ceiling, not an output: the cord carries whatever the generator actually produces, up to this limit.
| Current x voltage | 50 A x 250 V |
|---|---|
| Maximum load | 12,500 W |
| Conductors | 6 AWG + 3 x 8 AWG, four conductors |
| Generator end | NEMA 14-50P plug |
| House end | NEMA SS2-50R twist lock, into a NEMA SS2-50P inlet box |
Which length
Every length in this kit carries the same 50 A and the same connectors. Length is the only variable, so pick by the distance from where the generator stands to where the inlet box is mounted, and add slack.
| Length | Current | Maximum load | Connectors |
|---|---|---|---|
| 25 ft | 50 A | 12,500 W | NEMA 14-50P to NEMA SS2-50R |
| 50 ft | 50 A | 12,500 W | NEMA 14-50P to NEMA SS2-50R |
Connecting a generator to a building's wiring needs an inlet box and a transfer switch or interlock installed to your local code. Have that work done by a licensed electrician: back-feeding a panel without one puts voltage on the utility line.
What it connects to
| Equipment | Works | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Generator with a NEMA 14-50R outlet | Yes | The cord's 14-50P male plug goes into the generator |
| The inlet box in this kit | Yes | The cord's SS2-50R twist-lock end connects to the box's SS2-50P |
| 30 A generators and equipment | No | Use the 30 A kit, NEMA L14-30P to L14-30R |
| Standard household 120 V outlets | No | This is a 125/250 V four-wire twist-lock system, not an extension cord |
